This version of the New Balance 1600 has been dubbed “The Benjamin” and from what we can tell through the out of focus teaser image its patriotic suede sneaker with a gum outsole. We’ll just have to wait a few days to confirm our assumptions as surely images of this release will make their way to the net and hopefully purchase information for those of you not close to the City of Brotherly Love. This cultural milestone was the inspiration behind the creation of this bespoke ”Brooklyn Dodgers New Balance 574” for Brooklyn’s finest, DJ Clark Kent. In addition to being one of the most renowned sneaker collectors in the world, DJ Clark Kent is an expert on the heritage of Brooklyn, NY. One of the few brands still maintaining factories in the US, this “American Rebel” collection from New Balance is a welcome release. The inspiration for the “American Rebel” Collection are cultural details such as muscle cars, motorcycles, leather jackets, and the American flag. Featuring premium suede, and mesh each color represents a piece of Americana, from the fire-engine Red of the 998, to the darker tones of the 996 editions representing a leather jacket.
