He’s being sued over it. “Bumpin’ Bus Stop” was an obscure song written and performed by David Pryor and his band, Thunder Lightning, back in 1974. Now, Pryor’s children, Trena Steward and Lorenzo Pryor, have filed a civil complaint against West, Roc-A-Fella Records, The Island, and Def Jam Music Group for copyright infringement and other allegations. The “Bumpin’ Bus Stop” heirs, who each owns a quarter of the song, have claimed that within the first 13 seconds of Kanye’s massive 2005 hit, “Gold Digger,” is a sampling of their father’s track.
