Did Nike Predict a Miami Heat Victory With the LeBron X Low Floral?

Published on June 19, 2013 by in Fashion

Article written by: +Albert Costill Posted on: June 19, 2013 Before Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals, things weren’t looking that good for the Miami Heat. But, that hasn’t stopped The Swoosh from predicting the Heat from winning back-to-back titles. With the Spurs up in the series 3-2, images of the LeBron X Low Floral were leaked. These special-edition kicks feature a green-and-black color scheme with a floral print upper, as well as, “2-TIME CHAMPION” written on one insole with “11-12 12-13” on the other. Of course, when the images were first seen on Tuesday afternoon, LeBron only had one championship ring. Which is probably why Sneakerheads are questioning

Published on June 19, 2013 by in Fashion

Article written by: +Albert Costill Posted on: June 19, 2013 Keds Stop what you’re doing for a second and look down at the sneakers on your feet. They might have cost you over a hundred bucks. They could be a limited-edition pair. And, they’re most likely one of your favorite items in your possession. Regardless of the price, brand, color or material, every pair of sneakers can be traced back to the 1800s. In the 1830s, the plimsoll shoe was developed as beachwear by the Liverpool Rubber Company. This early type of athletic shoe featured a canvas upper and rubber sole, which became the typical gym shoe for schools in Britain. These rubber-soled shoes would pave the way for sneakers in the following decades. Goodyear Metallic Rubber Shoe Company The term “sneakers” has at least been around since 1887. It

Published on June 18, 2013 by in Fashion

Article written by: SoJones Posted on: June 18, 2013 LeBron James and the Miami Heat are on the brink of elimination from the 2013 NBA Finals. For King James to capture a second NBA Title, he’s going to have to make history. LBJ will have to lead the Heat from a 3-2 Finals deficit. That’s something that legends by the name of Michael Jordan and Larry Bird, for example, have never accomplished. But, despite what happens when the Spurs and Heat hit the court tonight, one thing’s certain: LeBron is going to show up in some fresh gear. Throughout the NBA Finals 2013, LeBron has been arriving at the arena in some amazing kicks from PMK Customs. Last week, SoJones mentioned the custom black Balenciaga Arenas that LeBron rocked before Game 2. Those were some clean shoes that were made

Converse Chuck Taylor x The Simpsons

Published on June 17, 2013 by in Fashion

Article written by: +Albert Costill Posted on: June 17, 2013 You may recall that when The Simpsons Movie was released in 2007, Vans teamed up with the citizens of Springfield for a very limited collection. Even if you don’t remember that collaboration, The Simpsons are getting another shoe collection that won’t be as exclusive. Over the weekend, June 15 to be exact, Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star dropped The Simpsons collection in honor of America’s longest-running scripted primetime series. The Collection includes “The Homer,” which depicts television’s favorite dad and his famous “D’oh!” and “Woo Hoo!” exclamations, “The Bart,” with him scrawling “I will not waste chalk,” on a blackboard and “The Family”. “The Family” features all five of the Simpsons with many of Springfield’s residents in a light blue outline against a white background. The Converse Simpsons Collection is featured

Exclusive Photos: Brooklyn Dodgers New Balance 574 by PMK Customs

Published on June 17, 2013 by in Fashion

Article written by: Michael Mahon Posted on: June 17, 2013 In 1947, the Brooklyn Dodgers became the first team in Major League Baseball to ink a deal with an African-American baseball player by signing Jackie Robinson.  This cultural milestone was the inspiration behind the creation of this bespoke ”Brooklyn Dodgers New Balance 574” for Brooklyn’s finest, DJ Clark Kent.  In addition to being one of the most renowned sneaker collectors in the world, DJ Clark Kent is an expert on the heritage of Brooklyn, NY. With that in mind, PMK Customs chose to integrate some history into the design of the New Balance 574 by laser-etching the famous “Ebbets Field” onto the baseball leather and embroidering the iconic “B” logo on the tongue. The materials used in these custom shoes reference baseball, from the leather to the stitching details on the heel and

I haven’t always been the wedge-and-pretty-heels kind. And I only started to pay attention to ladies’ shoes when I turned 21. But ModCloth’s collection makes me almost gushy, as it appeals to the artsy side of me. I’m quite sure you’ll have the same reaction. Let’s take a break from the usual SoJones fare of sneakers and basketball shoes for a bit. So, ladies, here are 12 quirky shoes handpicked by me for you to gush over. Dancing in the Sweets   This is what a ‘shoebiz’ entrance is all about–vibrant; full of drama, lollipop rings and stud details. These vegan faux-leather booties are perfect for
