Anybody ready for the Air Yeezy II shoes? Nike has finally revealed Kanye West’s second edition of the successful Nike Air Yeezy, and it blends classic Nike features and breakthroughs with the rapper’s sense of aesthetics. The shoes were inspired by old school, basketball high tops combined with the original Nike Air Yeezy design and are built on the Nike Air Tech Challenge II tennis shoe outsole. If you’re crazy about textures, the Nike Air Yeezy II features anaconda-textured quarter panels made with leather and the Vac-Tech Nike swoosh. The shoes are perfect for luxury seekers as the materials used are a mix of plush leather, tough nylon, and super soft nubuck. The reptilian texture doesn’t stop there. The molded rear also features a reptilian-inspired spike. The molded forefoot strap maintains the Nike cross-training silhouette, and, last but not least, the YZY hieroglyphics complete the shoe design.
Unlike many celeb-designed accessories, the Nike Air Yeezy II hangs on to its absolute function. Nike firmly stated that they eliminated unnecessary padding, making the tongue and plush collar comfortable and breathable. The shoe is designed to be slimmer and is tailored to Kanye West’s foot, ensuring a perfect fit…as long as your foot is similar to Kanye’s, of course. If you’re active, the collar is lowered for greater movement.
Start getting ready for the sale now because only a limited number of the Nike Air Yeezy II Platinum and Black editions will be released to select global retailers on June 9.
