Last night, one of the best hip-hop groups in history appeared on “The Voice.” Goodie Mob reunited to performed their newest single, “Fight to Win”, and all four bandmates, Cee Lo Green, Khujo, T-Mo and Big Gipp, were in attendance.
The Atlanta natives dazzled the crowd with their metallic gold suits and glowing teeth, attire not the least bit out of the ordinary for the eccentric group. Those who follow the band know that these four men are known for their gritty rhymes and their outside-the-box style. So it came as no surprise when the group began their performance dressed like metallic warriors from the future.
The single Fight to Win will also be used as the new theme song for the NBA. Talk about making a comeback! The group’s last album debuted in 2005 and was entitled Livin’ Life as Lumberjacks. Fans of the group have been waiting for the reunion, and finally their moment has come.
Breakout member Cee Lo Green has been making strides in the music industry since their last album, but he has been doing so solo. Cee Lo’s solo projects consist of the following albums: Cee-Lo Green and His Perfect Imperfections (2002), Cee-Lo Green… Is the Soul Machine (2004), and The Lady Killer (2010). When Cee Lo was asked about the new Goodie Mob single, he told Sway in the Morning, “It’s definitely African Americana.”
The performance was electrifying, and it even brought out Goodie Mob’s friend and fellow Dungeon Family member, André 3000, out to view the performance. The newly reunited group is said to have about 12–15 songs already recorded for their upcoming album, entitled Age Against the Machine. The release date is not yet set in stone, but we are thrilled that Goodie Mob has reunited once again.
