Celebrity Rewind: Wale Rocks OG Foamposite Max for XXL Freshman Cover Shoot

Lots of people dig Foam these days, but Wale dug them from the start. For his right of passage XXL Freshmen cover, Wale put on a pair of sneakers and a scene. The DC native’s OG Nike Total Air Foamposite Maxes were as outspoken as the MC and as unrepresented as his city. Jordan Brand Hints at Big News Next Week

As an already loaded holiday season approaches, what more could Jordan Brand have planned? That’s the question on the minds of sneakerheads everywhere after a suggestive tweet by @Jumpman23. If you recall, around this time last year we received confirmation on the Air Jordan 13 “Altitude” quickstrike. Perhaps something similar is in the works…stay tuned. Grape/Laney Pack? o.O The “Grapes” would be nice. I have a feeling it’s going to be about the new hybrids Air Jordan 2012?  Article source: Nick Kicks

Durham’s Creative Food Drive

On October 15, teams will gather at Central Park in Durham to compete in a non-perishable food build-off.  That’s right, a build-off  (really it’s a food drive, but build-off just sounds more fun). Fifteen teams have committed or will commit (there seem to still be open team spots if you’re interested) to collecting 500+ items of non-perishable food. Then, on the day of the food drive, these teams will compete to see who can build the best sculpture out of their collected food. Their creations will be judged by  Sherry DeVries of the Durham Arts Council, Adrian Brown of the Durham Chamber, Michael Hining of MHAworks and Craig Posey of Stewart Engineering. Frank Stasio of NPR will be the emcee. Once the contest is over, all of the food will then be donated to the Food Bank of Central Eastern NC. Pretty cool idea,
